I think Betty's idea of an annual national celebration of disability culture and soldarity is a wonderful idea. It could coincide with one of the major disability arts festivals -- like Independence, based in Manchester.
If it were the same day every year, it would give a real focal point for a lot of local groups to work towards.
Maybe the National Disability Arts Forum might be interested in getting European money for it.
