I am writing now to try to remember many of the details involved with each and every new member of RAPS (Relatives and Allies of Psychiatric Survivors, Branch of Support Coalition International/Mindfreedom.

I will start with my friend Anne H. in Houston, Texas. I met Anne in November of 1997 when RAPS was about to be created. David Oaks, Coordinator for Support Coalition seem to think that this area of support and networking was much needed. He being a survivor himself and running this organization almost alone for over 15 years knows first hand what is needed most!

Anne didn't and still does not have a computer. She is an artist and a poet. She is a lovely woman and has a son who has been in and out of the system. He is a very handsome man and has a strong will of his own. Her story involves the family and lots of feuds and I won't go into her story because it is personal. I will tell you, though, that Anne does believe that a little LITHIUM seems to help her son. That, of course, is her opinion and she is entitled to it!

The next person I speak with frequently and have been in touch with hundreds of times is Dorothy M in Staten Island, New York. It has been over 4 years and we still speak at least once a month. It use to be every other day but now that her son is captured in the IOC Program in New York it is very difficult for Dorothy to have any control at all over what they do to her son. He is very affected by the Iatrogenics of numerous drugs and many drug cocktails. He use to be able to use his computer that he built and sail his boat. Sadly they are taking those few little harmless events away from her son through the use of harmful, dangerous neuroleptics, anti-psychotics and anti-depressants thrust into him against his will and Dorothy's.

My very dear friend, Marilyn G., is dealing with the "Forensic Psychiatric System." It is dangerous, coercive, frightening and almost unbearable to be in this system at all. You must deal with Patient Advocate Attorneys, attorneys for the family, The Justice System and, of course, The County Psychiatrists, who have way too much power and too many lethal weapons (drugs) to "try" on their victims. The outcome is usually Iatrogenically Poisoning of the brain that the drugs are administered into. She had been "withdrawing" her son and "withdrawal" takes lots of time (years), lots of patience and lots of understanding. The behaviors encountered with "withdrawal" can be so bizarre that one would not believe it is real! She had her son on mega-vitamins and nutrients to try to restore the previous damages he received through the "mental health system" and his own drugs of choice (street drugs). Violation after violation of one's body and brain can make someone very rageful, untrustfull of anyone and angry at the whole deal. Marilyn has put her life, her soul and her spirit into saving her son. I think she will, but I think she must take him away from all of these areas of entrapment. He needs to be far away so he can get the anger, rage and deeply hurt feelings to heal to the point where he can communicate and understand the laws, the Constitution -- "The System" that needs heads for future "trials of drugs" etc.

My friend Delores J., who ran away from Missouri last year, is now in Kansas. She had to get out of Fresno, Calif. as the "system" did try to keep her son. They did drug him against his will and they did lock him up. He was in "withdrawal" and acting out as they all do once they begin to detox from poisonous neuroleptics, anti-psychotics and anti-depressants. She had a good profession, a good paycheck and gave it up to save her son. She fled Missouri and came to Fresno to see if San Joaquin Psychotherapy Center could help her son. If he were not in full blown psychosis because of "withdrawal," then maybe it would have worked but each human becomes paranoid and trusts no one, not even the "good guys" like Dr. McCready and Dr. Popper who use no force, no restraints, NO DRUGS etc.

I guess I have remembered some of the things that have happened over the last year (2000-2001). Many of these people I have met and I met them through RAPS. Many others I keep in touch with via the phone because to hear a voice and share cannot be compared to e-mails, letters etc. A human voice that understands what the "system" is doing to humans each and everyday.
