Being left out

Story

I belong to a support group through my church. This support group will be going on a canoe trip. The pastor will not let me go along because she thinks it is not safe for me to go along.

As I told you in my story, Living with Multiple Disabilities, I have several disabilities. One is visual processing disorder. This has to parts: visual spatial disorder and visual tracking disorder. I also have post traumatic stress syndrome.

Because of some of my memories, my pastor is concerned that the latrine will cause flashbacks. She is probably right. I feel left out because of my disability. I feel that she would have done something different if I could have done this because she would have to buy a new canoe.

Does anyone else have this kind of experience? How do you handle these feelings?
