Depression and Disability

Story

10 years ago, my husband fell through a roof and had a lumbar fusion done. He was very active in weightlifting before this happened and loved athletics.

Now, because of the steel plate in his back and two bad knees (that Social Security refused to pay to have repaired), he sits on the sidelines of life and watches TV all day.

My question is: For those of you who are disabled and in pain, how would you like your spouse to help you out of the funk of depression? How do I convince him to live life -- not watch it go by?

Also, for those of you who have not resolved this issue of disability and depression, remember those who love you do suffer with you.
