My 19-year-old daughter was in a disasterous relationship, and she began suffering what was diagnosed as stress after it. Only when she went to an optician did he realise that her eyes were full of blood at the back. She was immeadiately admitted to a Neurology Hospital and diagnosed as having PTC. She is the only person in the border of Scotland to suffer from it and we were unable to find any information.

She lives on her own and I began a very long search for info on the net. We were sucessful in finding a group in the US, and this has boosted her mental state. We have now managed to get her a modem and e-mail and she can now talk to list members first hand, which has lifted her depression.

She wanted to be a lorry driver, but that is not to be and she is classed as severly disabled now. Through my own disability experiences with pages and pages of confusing forms to fill in for benefits, I have been able to help her sort these out and get a Social Worker and also another Social Worker expressly for the deaf. She now has equipment to make her life much easier.

I have to constantly encourage her to go out as her gait is stumble and she is overweight. She has suffered abuse and name calling about being drunk etc., and, at the age of 19, this is not what a once active teenager wants.
