I earlier wrote a story of the events that took place in Febuary of this year. To sum up -- since I was knocked off line and lost the whole story -- I was caring for an aunt with alzheimers disease, and had three grown children and two grandchildren and a son-in-law all living in my home.
So much happened this year! My home burned down within minutes of going to help my son-in-law fix a flat at the hospital where my oldest daughter had given birth the day before, and to take a peek at my grandson so he could come and fix the wheel on my van that had broken off three of four studs on the drivers side. I knew I couldn't be gone long, as my other grandchildren would be returning home from school. I was gone 45 minutes. When I returned, the whole back side of my home was burned. My aunt started to fix dinner, though I told her I would be back in time to do so. Then she forgot she put a pan of grease on the stove and went in and laid down. Thank GOD the mail carrier was late delivering the mail, and a couple of neighbors all noticed the fire at the same time. They pulled her and our dog out of the burning home.
I am eternally grateful to them, however, eight people were left homeless. Though I was told it would be rebuilt in two months, it took six. I lived in extended stays, and my lease option was up in May as the home was still under construction the owners decided not to sell -- but would now only rent it to me. I owed $96,000. Now she tells me she will sell it to me for $130,000. I lost $34000 dollars. Plus, my daughter (youngest with two children), and I got into a confrontation a few weeks later. She had me arrested as I lost control and slapped her for disrespecting me. This cost me $600.00.
Now 9 months later I have forgiven her, and she is once again living with me. She gave up a place she had gotten on her own while we weren't speaking, and moved in with her boyfriend. She moved in only three weeks after his wife moved out. Three weeks later, he asked her to move out since his wife wanted to come back. She was left with no where to go. First I told her there were homeless shelters, but I couldn't be that tough -- especially with my grandchilldren.
Even though she had me put in jail, and though she had wrecked a car I owned and was still paying for, and though she called the police on me a total of three times, and though when she got her tax check that I paid to file. Even though she caused me a lot of grief I forgave her and let her come home. AM I CRAZY??? I love my grandchildren.
We are doing okay but at times the anger of what she did comes around. I try to look at her as CHRIST looks at me, and forgive her. I also helped my son and a friend of his to start a roofing bisiness. The friend left in the middle of the night, not telling us he was doing so, leaving my son and I to run a business that we knew nothing about for three months. Even though we went to Ohio in hopes of talking him into returning, which did no good for about four months. He finally did return in November (Friday the 13TH). After making a trip up there, after cleaning homes as I also had a maid service all day, and in great pain drove up to OHIO and got him. When he returned he tried to tell me how to run my home and was constantly putting my son down. We had words and he left.
Everything that could cause frustration was happening before the fire . And then the fire! What a nightmare this year has been. However, I met a wonderful guy that has made my life so much more bearable and I am thankful for him .
After moving back into my home My aunt fell down ten stairs head first as there was no guard rail re-installed. We almost lost her. It was discovered that she had colon cancer and after the surgery she refused to eat and I was called to pay my last moments with her and as I had just started working for a debt consoladation company lost my position for taking to much time off so this has been a very frustrating year A N D -- our dog (a minature yorkie) was given away to people unknown by the kennel. My daughter had taken him, too so tell me: WILL IT GET BETTER?
Plus, I have learned I have a disease called fibromyalgia, a debilatating disease. H E L P ME & thanks for reading.
