Lost Family, Lost Friends, Found Myself in the Process.

Story

When I came out about my mental illnesses, that are due mostly to sexual abuse and abuse, many people more less abandoned me. I was called a liar instead of comforted. I was told I was crazy for having panic attacks instead of comforted. I was hung up on by my sister and mom for talking about "family secrets."

Since the war, I have called them and put it behind me, and I always wonder what would of happened if I had never called them back -- after all they were the ones who disowned me and hung up on me first. But, ever since the war started, I missed them, worried for them and wanted them in my life, for who knows how long each of us has?

But I always will remember the "ugliness and hurt" that they caused by not choosing to consider that I might just be a victim. My therapist and friends feel I should go on with my own life, and I'd be better off -- but they are family, they are friends. And, yes, they are not as I wish them to be, but they are the only family I ever have, so I pray to GOD often to help forgive and move on.

I think, since I am in therapy, I am able to handle my emotions and panic attacks and post traumatic disorder. I only hope new-found peace lasts with us all.

They are lost, however, for they were are not near what I thought. But I hold onto what I can.
