How have you dealt with relationships you lost because of your disability?

After getting home from a long rehab hospital stay due to a severe right hemisphere stroke in 1986, I tried to assume the family position that I always had before. We were married for twenty six years with four sons. Because of the extensive right brain damage.(the side that controls perceptions and emotions), I felt that my wife and sons were trying to force me out of the family. I stareted getting involved in outside volunteer work, which included working closely with my former rehab nurse to set up a county stroke club support group.
Anyway, I got so resentful towards my family at home that I left to try to start a whole new life as a handicapped person. I lived independently in my apartments as I went along and continued various volunteer jobs. Fortunately I qualified to drive again and had a car. After two years, I married my rehab nurse but it only lasted two years. So now, ten years after I left my lifelong wife and best friend, we are trying to reconcile and bring our family back together. Of course sons have all grown and gone to start their own lives.
Looking back, I was entirely wrong in leaving in the first place, but it did teach me that I could live independently and alone. Now I'd like to re-marry my first wife. John

I am 25 years old, I am a single mother and recently lost contact with my latest couple, which is my girls father. Now, I met a guy whose disabled and I feel something inside but I am not sure of how to handle this situation I am afraid of getting closer although he is pretty much searching a closer relationship with me.
