Story

Many people mistake a learning disability for mental retardation. They fail to realize that people with disabilities have made positive contributions to America. I am living proof that people with learning disabilities have high intelligence like anyone else and will be able to go to college and achieve great things.

I will send this message to the students I hope to teach in the future. I want them to know that if I can do it, they can also. The word mental retardation will not be used in my classroom. I will let them know that they can achieve their goals.
