What do you mean by "through misconception and laziness, I've received free French fries as the result of my disability"? When people do something kind for others, even if it's due to the fact that person has a disability, is this to be considered bad when there is so much lack of kindness in this world? My story goes the opposite I feel.

I was just cruising the neighborhood in my power chair not really doing anything when I saw a sign advertising a garage sale. Being bored, I decided to check it out. As I approached the driveway where the sale was being held, there were three kids, two young girls about 10 years old, and a boy, probably a younger brother, about 7, or 8 years old; they were selling lemonade and big boxes of M & M's.

As I approached, they asked if I wished to buy anything. As I don't usually carry money just going around my neighborhood, I had to tell them no, I was sorry I couldn't. Actually I was relieved because I wouldn't have known how to drink the lemonade anyway. Unfazed, the kids told me I could have some lemonade and candy for free. I politely declined saying I didn't want to cheat them of any money. Still they said they had plenty of lemonade and a huge box of boxes of candy – I could have whatever I wanted. They weren't concerned about any money; they just want some business.

So I explained to them I wouldn't be able to drink the lemonade. No problem! One ran up to the house, asked their mother for a straw, came back, and said she would hold it for me. So I had my lemonade! I checked out the garage sale, and eventually went away with two large boxes of M & M's, given me freely. I had been hesitant about what to say to the children, but once forced, they accepted my explanation of the way I was very nicely and made sure I took some candy, which I never really wanted.

The money meant nothing to them – neither did my condition, they just wanted to play at having a business and were genuinely friendly. I now have some very nice friends on that street.
